Trip to Mysore
I had been on a trip to Mysore from Bangalore on the wonderful Expressway and it was great riding the Jeep. We wanted to visit “Payana” Car museum which is near Mysore. The drive on the expressway was sublime. While the automatic can feel gruffy in start stop traffic, out on the highway, it is smooth and in its elements. It is very hard to keep this beast tamed at 100 kmph speed.
When we returned from the car museum and after a good lunch at Maratha Mess in Mysore, it started pouring cats and dogs. It is in such heavy downpours that the weight of the Jeep Compass and handling capability comes into the forefront. I might not have been so confident of keeping to the speed limit of 100km in the downpour if I had been in a lighter sedan. It is also very nice to cruise in the Jeep instead of mad acceleration and can lull co passengers to a slumber needing more care from the driver! I got a mileage of 18+ kmpl on the expressway . It has now dropped to 14kmpl after encountering the Bangalore rush hour Saturday traffic! Some pictures from the car museum for fellow car aficionados.
