A two-and-a-half-year-old boy named Shivanish tragically drowned after falling into a water sump at a residential building in Vijayanagar Colony, Mehdipatnam.
Hyderabad: A two-and-a-half year boy drowned in a sump at a building in Vijayanagar colony in Mehdipatnam on Monday night.
The toddler Shivanish, lived with his parents in the servant quarters in a building in Vijayanagar colony. His father worked as a watchman in the building.
On Monday evening, the boy came out of the house to play and went missing. The parents of the child, who later noticed him missing, searched for him in the neighbourhood.
“The boy was later found dead in the water sump. We suspect the boy may have accidentally fallen in the sump and drowned,” said the Mehdipatnam police.
A case has been registered.
