Booking windows for the newly-launched Kia Carens Clavis EV have officially opened nationwide. Interested buyers can book the electric MPV online or by visiting their nearest Kia dealerships by paying a sum of Rs 25,000. The Carens EV lineup is available in four variants – HTK+, HTX, HTX Long-Range and HTX+ Long-Range – priced at Rs 17.99 lakh, Rs 20.49 lakh, Rs 22.49 lakh and Rs 24.49 lakh, respectively. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom.
Kia Carens Clavis Ev Rivals:
In terms of pricing, the new Kia electric MPV doesn’t have a direct rival. However, considering its positioning, the Carens EV takes on the slightly more expensive BYD eMax7, priced between Rs 26.90 lakh – Rs 29.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s the first electric mass-market and first Made-in-India EV from the South Korean automaker in India.
Kia Carens Clavis EV Range, Charging Time:
The Carens Clavis EV can be had with either a 42kWh battery pack (Standard) or a 51.4kWh battery (Long-Range). The smaller battery, paired with a 135bhp motor, delivers a claimed range of 404km. The larger battery comes paired with a 171bhp electric motor, and promises a range of 490km. Kia claims that the Carens EV can do 0 to 100kmph in 8.4 seconds.
Both the Standard-Range and Long-Range batteries take 39 minutes to charge from 10 to 80% using a DC fast charger. They can also be charged using 7.4kW and 11kW AC chargers in 4 hours (for the 42kWh battery) and 4 hours 45 minutes (for the 51.4kWh battery).
