I had gone to the Mahindra showroom to book a Thar 2-door RWD diesel in red, but they told me it would take a month to arrive. Just then, the SA mentioned that one of his customers was selling his three-month-old red Thar RWD diesel. I discussed it with my father and explained that the Thar 2-door is not really a family car but more of a recreational vehicle. Since this would be the third car in our family of four (we already have a sedan and a hatchback), we decided to go ahead with the deal. We managed to get it at 3.5 lakh less than the cost of a new one. In the last 10 months, I’ve covered 13,000 km in the Thar and am loving every bit of it.I’m getting mileage of 15-16 kmpl in city and 18-19 kmpl on highway. All figures are with AC 100% ON.
