Hyderabad: Apollo Hospitals felicitates bone cancer survivors on World Sarcoma Day


Hyderabad: Apollo Hospitals Cancer Centre, Jubilee Hills, felicitated bone cancer survivors for their fighting spirit and inspiring journey of recovery on the occasion of World Sarcoma Day on Wednesday.

Many survivors shared their journey from diagnosis of the ailment to recovery and expressed gratitude to their doctors, caregivers, and families. The felicitation also featured an awareness session on early symptoms of bone cancer, importance of timely diagnosis, and advances in surgical treatments, limb salvage procedures, and rehabilitation.


Speaking on the occasion, Dr P Vijay Anand Reddy, Director of Apollo Cancer Centre, said early detection and multidisciplinary treatment is very essential in improving the outcomes of sarcoma outcomes.

Dr Rajeev Reddy, Orthopaedic Oncologist, said, “Bone cancer treatments are complex and physically demanding. These survivors have shown extraordinary willpower in the face of adversity.”

Oncologists, orthopedic surgeons, health care professionals, families of survivors and eminent personalities from various walks of life attended the event.
