Vijayawada: A 50-year-old man was murdered, allegedly by his wife and brother-in-law, in a suspected case of domestic discord that turned fatal. The incident, which occurred in Nandyal district, led to a police investigation following a complaint from local residents. After killing her husband, the woman transported the body in a car to Nandyal all the way from Piduguralla in Palnadu district and later dumped it outside the house of her in-laws.According to Nandyala town SI Shiva Nagaraju, the deceased was identified as Mekala Sheshachalam, a resident of Noonapalle village in Nandyal district. He was married to Ravanamma, a native of Piduguralla in Palnadu district. While Sheshachalam worked as a painter, his wife was a homemaker. The couple had two daughters and had been experiencing marital disputes for some time.As per preliminary investigation, Ravanamma left for her parental home at Piduguralla in Palnadu district following an altercation with her husband about two months ago. In an attempt to bring her back, Sheshachalam travelled to Piduguralla on Monday night. However, during his visit, another argument broke out between the couple. Police said during this confrontation, Ravanamma, along with her younger brother Ramayya, physically assaulted Sheshachalam, resulting in his death. The duo then transported the body in a car back to Noonapalle and dumped it near the house of her in-laws.Sheshachalam’s daughters, upon discovering the body, alerted the police. Police reached the spot and initiated investigation. The body was shifted to Nandyala govt hospital for postmortem, and forensic teams were deployed to collect evidence. Nandyal town police have registered a case and are investigating. Ravanamma and her brother are likely to be arrested soon.
