Vijayawada: South Central Railway (SCR) principal chief commercial manager (PCCM) N. Ramesh conducted a detailed review on Thursday at Vijayawada, focusing on commercial performance, goods sheds development, and Amrit Bharat station progress in Vijayawada Division.
The review was attended by Narendra Vijayawada divisional railway manager (DRM), A. Patil, K. Sambasiva Rao, chief commercial manager of Freight Services; and D. Satyanarayana, chief commercial manager for Passenger Services.
A presentation was made on the development status of 15 goods sheds identified across the division. DRM Patil noted that works on five of these sheds are targeted for completion by December 2025, stating that the modernisation will enhance cargo handling efficiency and boost freight revenue.

Ramesh appreciated the division’s progress and stressed the need to expedite approach road works, CCTV installations, platform cover works, and labour facilities at goods sheds. He called for strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental norms during execution.
He instructed branch officers to fast-track Amrit Bharat works, ensuring world-class amenities and compliance with all passenger comfort standards. He also reviewed freight performance and advised staff to analyse local market trends to increase freight revenue.
During the interaction with ticket checking staff and on-board TTE squads, Ramesh urged prompt responses to Rail Madad complaints and prioritisation of passenger needs. He encouraged staff to perform at their best and bring distinction to the organisation.
