Triumph dealership installed a Bajaj spare part on my Speed 400

The part I got from the Triumph service center is the same as the Bajaj one I had installed earlier (which is different from the one that came with the motorcycle)

BHPian nr07 recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

How I came to know about this?

I broke my clutch lever of my Speed 400 (gen1) and because the service center is away from home, I got a replacement part from Bajaj service center and had it installed. It is slightly different than the Triumph one that came with my motorcycle.

I went to the Triumph service center and got the Triumph lever installed a few days later.

I came home and something felt off so I checked and it turns out… the part I got from the Triumph service center is the same as the Bajaj one I had installed earlier (which is different from the one that came with the motorcycle).

Just to confirm if the service center made a gaffe, I reached out to them and they provided me videos of other seal packed levers which have the Triumph seal and they say this is the one I got.

So, it turns out, Triumph is now selling Bajaj brand aftermarket parts instead of the ones they sold with the bike. (They are not the exact same parts, so I am not talking about parts sharing)

Some design differences you can clearly see here. The Bajaj one is also slimmer and the angle is also different.

From these photos it is clear that the width is different. The angle of the curve is also slightly different but that is not visible from images. I can share a video if anyone wants to see.

This seems like a minor issue but I would have liked to get replacement part that is same as the one I got with the bike originally (in size and form at least). I don’t mind parts sharing but at least keep the parts same.

Just to clarify, I do not have any issues with part sharing but at least keep the parts same. Why give different parts then if you want to give lower quality replacements once the customer purchases the motorcycle?
