Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce a new midsize SUV called the Escudo in the Indian market. The new model from India’s largest carmaker is likely to be launched on September 3, 2025. According to media reports, the Maruti Escudo will be a 5-seater midsize SUV that will be positioned between the Brezza and Grand Vitara. It will be sold via the brand’s Arena outlets. It is said that the Escudo will offer a more value-for-money package compared to its rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Toyota might also introduce a rebadged version of the Escudo in the future. While technical details are still unclear, the Escudo could get the same powertrain options as the Grand Vitara. These include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre petrol hybrid. It might also get a CNG version. Source:Autocar India
