Russia Angara Airline Flight Crash LIVE Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences over the tragic plane crash in Russia, saying India stands “in solidarity with Russia and its people.” The crash occurred in the eastern Amur region on Thursday, killing 43 passengers — including five children — and six crew members, according to state-owned news agency TASS. “Crew error during landing due to poor visibility is considered a reason for the crash,” TASS reported, citing preliminary observations.
What happened? A Siberia-based airline called Angara– An-24– was reported missing after radar screens dropped off while approaching its destination of Tynda, a town in the Amur region bordering China, regional governor Vasily Orlov said.

What do the officials say? “All necessary forces and means have been deployed to search for the plane,” the regional governor wrote on Telegram. The emergencies ministry put the number of people on board somewhat lower, at around 40.
