Snapchat is introducing a new feature that allows users to notify loved ones automatically when they arrive home safely.
According to a report by The Verge, the upcoming Home Safe feature will send an automatic alert to selected friends once a user gets home — eliminating the need to manually send a message.
While apps like WhatsApp and Snapchat already allow live location sharing, Home Safe removes the need for continuous tracking by sending a one-time notification instead.
The alerts will only be sent to friends with whom the user already shares their location, and the alert is sent just once, automatically turning off afterward, The Verge reported.
To use the feature, users must first set their home location on Snap Map:
1. Tap on your Bitmoji, then select “My Home.”
2. After setting the home location, tap the Map icon in a conversation and select the “Home Safe” button.
