Three injured as goods carrier rams car returning from airport trip

A woman was critically injured and two others sustained minor injuries after a speeding goods carrier crashed into their car from rear end near the Gaganpahad flyover entry ramp in the wee hours of Friday (July 25, 2025). The accident was reported around 2.30 a.m. when 35-year-old Pushpalatha, 13-year-old Advitha, and 60-year-old Krishna Kumar, were returning from the airport towards Hyderabad. As their car approached the flyover, the goods carrier rammed into it from the rear.

Pushpalatha, who suffered serious head injuries, was rushed to a nearby hospital and is currently undergoing treatment. Advitha and Krishna Kumar escaped with minor injuries.

According to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) police, the road narrows near the Gaganpahad flyover entrance due to a pedestrian crossing, which may have contributed to the mishap. “We suspect the driver of the goods vehicle lost control on the constricted stretch and collided with the car,” an officer said.

A case was registered and the driver of the goods carrier taken into custody. Further investigation is underway.
