15 Students Saved From Floodwaters In Kamareddy

Nizamabad: Fifteen students were rescued from rising floodwaters in Sadashivanagar mandal of Kamareddy district on Saturday. Due to heavy rainfall, floodwaters had overflowed a bridge near Amarlabanda village.

The students, all residents of Amarlabanda, had walked to nearby Dharmaraopet village to attend classes at the Zilla Parishad High School. After school, while returning home, they were stranded by sudden flooding at Rajagunda Vagu.
The students raised an alarm, prompting a swift response from local authorities. Sadashivanagar circle inspector Santosh Kumar, sub-inspector Pushparaj, and other police personnel rushed to the spot and safely rescued the students using a cage-wheel tractor. All students returned home safely.

Just days earlier, on July 19, around five farmers were also stranded in floodwaters at Rajagunda Vagu and were rescued by local villagers. The sudden surge in water levels due to ongoing heavy rains continues to disrupt normal life in Sadashivanagar mandal.

Parents expressed relief and happiness following the safe return of their children.
