One of the most backward districts in Telangana, Mulugu is set to host an operations office of a tech company for the first time, thanks to the proactive initiative of the district administration with the support of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister and local MLA Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka).

“A Hyderabad-based IT firm, SRIA Infotech Pvt. Ltd., will launch its operations centre in Mulugu town soon. This will mark a rare entry of the tech industry into a district that is largely inhabited by Adivasis and has had no prior IT footprint,” said District Collector T.S. Divakara, adding that a renovated premises has been allotted for the company.

The Infotech firm’s move follows its participation in the Job Mela held on June 19, 2025, at the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) Regional Centre in Mulugu. During the event, the company recruited three employees and three interns from the district, reflecting the availability of trainable, job-ready youth. To support and mentor this initial team, five experienced staff from the firm’s Hyderabad office will be stationed in Mulugu.

To ensure continuous skilling and career development, the firm has also partnered with the local TASK Regional Centre, which was established on January 25, 2025, to address the region’s skill gap.

“Our aim is to establish the Mulugu office as a centre of excellence for regional IT operations, demonstrating how Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns can meaningfully contribute to India’s digital economy,” said a representative of the company.

The TASK centre so far trained multiple batches of students in programming, communication skills, reasoning and front-end technologies.

District Collector T.S. Divakara said, “The Job Mela held on June 19 by the TASK Regional Centre drew 80 participants from across the district. As many as 51 students received job offer letters from reputed companies with offered salaries ranging between ₹1.6 lakh and ₹4.2 lakh per annum. In addition, 28 students were shortlisted for further rounds of selection.”
