HYDERABAD: Two DSPs of the Andhra Pradesh govt’s Intelligence Security Wing (ISW) died, and two others, including an additional SP and a head constable, suffered injuries in a road accident at Choutuppal on Saturday.The deceased were M Chakradhar Rao, 57, from Goshamahal, and J Shanta Rao, 54, from Hayathnagar. The injured are KDMVR Prasad, 58, Additional SP from Hydershakote, and R Narasimha Raju, 54, Head Constable from Kompally.
While Shanta Rao was part of the Special Security Group that takes care of the chief minister’s security, the rest were ISW staff.They were en route to Hyderabad from Vijayawada to supervise AP ISW’s Hyderabad contingent routine firing and physical fitness tests to be conducted at Moinabad and Khairatabad.At 4:50 am, the Scorpio vehicle driven by Narasimha Raju hit the divider at Khaitapur on NH-65. “The Scorpio overshot the median and rammed into an oncoming truck on the other side of the road. The victims were stuck in the mangled vehicle. Our team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured driver and the additional SP sitting in the front seat to a nearby private hospital. The two DSPs sitting in the middle seat died on the spot with multiple injuries,” Choutuppal ACP P Madhusudhan Reddy said.AP Intelligence chief Mahesh Chandra Laddha said that both the injured additional SP and the head constable are out of danger. AP Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu will leave for a six-day Singapore tour on Saturday evening from Shamshabad airport.
