BHPian mobike008 recently shared this with other enthusiasts: First Detailing of BMW X3M40i in Seattle-July 2025 It’s summers in Seattle and the only 3-months where we are guaranteed sun for continuous days and weather is like winters in Delhi- Pleasantly sunny durning the day and chilly in the evening. This is the perfect time to plan for-outdoor activity, picnics, visits to lakes, mountains, ocean and most importantly get a nice waxing done. Folks who follow this ownership report know that one that t love more than myself is this B58 monster….. which has served me so well over the last 4.5 years and clocked over 45,000 miles (72,000kms) with zero issues. Another record is this is my longest ownership of the long list of cars that I owned in my life (12+ or 13+ something like that) and all of them being brand new cars. I have my next car also planned which means I have to give up “Blau Rakete” which is what is stopping me to get my next dream car but, thought of giving up this B58 gives me nightmares and I keep postponing getting my next dream car. If I think rationally, B58 powertrain is powerful enough to keep me entertained for a lifetime. But, heck no. Power is never enough and that stupid thought makes me think this B58 is not too powerful enough for my needs. Best part is if I sell my BMW, I can make some cool money and plonk that as an advance for my next car. But, gosh I can’t desert this beast. Well, let me keep having sleepless nights on what to do. Knowing my crazy impulses, I can swing any which way. LOL! Anyhow, coming back to the topic of discussion and what I wanted to share is that since I got this BMW brand new more than 4.5 years ago, I never spent a single dime on it. So I decided it’s high time, I make her feel special and got a simple “Interior and Exterior” detailing. There was a 40% off by a local store who do things at home (mobile service). I confirmed immediately as I got an appointment the next day (if they had said 1-2 weeks), I would have dropped the idea. Next day, they promptly came home around 1:00pm and spent 4-hours doing the following : 1. Vacuumed the entire car. Every nook and cranny !! 2. Washed every floor related carpet with soap 3. Used brush to clean every nook and cranny which was a surprise as every connecting part (doors, windows, boot, bonnet, roof glass etc) got completely cleaned. 4. Wheels got a special treatment and was thoroughly cleaned. 5. They farmed washed the car and rubbed it off 6. They waxed the car and rubbed it off 7. Interiors- Every inch of interior was cleaned with cleaning products including the hard to reach parts like steering column, carbon fiber connects- cup holders, rubber parts on the doors etc. They spent exactly 4-hours and were completed with their job at 5:00pm. This is not ceramic coating, nor PPF so the shine may not be like how it would have been if that was done. But, looking at this shine, Now I am super tempted to get a Ceramic Coating for 5-years (not sure how long I will keep this car) which is expensive but, seems like worth it. Presenting to you a car that is 4.5 years old and 72,000 kms done with zero rattles, issues till date. Touchwood !! Cheers to BMW X3M40i !!! Detailing folks at home. Car had lost its sheen. Foamed and Washed the car. Now for some pictures at our local park a mile away from home. I was happy with the shine. Please zoom and check the work. Remember this is not Ceramic or PPF. It’s simple detailing. https://youtu.be/Ipad8FTJzy0 It’s been ages since I saw the wheels this clean. Maybe when I took delivery. lol! https://youtube.com/shorts/ZhcePFHdcow?feature=share Fabulous job for the interiors too. Went into the craziest corners with a brush. My racing cockpit. Sunlight was too bright and harsh so the pictures cannot do justice much. Read BHPian comments for more insights and information.
