Singapore’s first Kuchipudi soloist shines at Hyderabad Rangapravesam

Hyderabad: Sri Priyanka Josyula made a solo debut as a Kuchipudi dancer, the first from Singapore to do so, at CESS Auditorium here on Saturday.

This full‐length solo performance was the culmination of rigorous training under the tutelage of Dr Nishitha Yabaji at the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS).

Rangapravesam, which translates to “ascending the stage” in Sanskrit, is a revered tradition in Kuchipudi, an ancient classical dance form originating from Andhra Pradesh, India.
