Hyderabad: An 11-month-old boy died after accidentally falling into a water-filled tub at his home in Kalapathar around 4 pm on Saturday.
According to Kalapathar inspector Khalil Pasha, the child was playing inside the house while his mother was cleaning the washroom. When she briefly stepped out, the boy, assuming she was still inside, crawled in and slipped into the tub. Although the vessel was not large, the infant was unable to get out on his own.
About 10 minutes later, the mother began searching for him and found him inside the tub. He was immediately rushed to Niloufer Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police said the boy’s father works for a private company in Saudi Arabia.
A case has been registered under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS), and the child’s body was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
