Visakhapatnam: After two days of thunderstorms, dry weather was expected to prevail over the entire Andhra Pradesh for the next week.
Senior scientist at IMD Dr S. Karunasagar said only north coastal Andhra Pradesh will get light rains, but the rest of the state will have a dry spell with an increase in the day temperature. However, a cyclonic circulation would form over the north Bay of Bengal after one week.
Meanwhile, Monday and Tuesday will have thunderstorms accompanied by lightning likely at isolated places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
Strong winds with speeds of 40-50 kmph are likely at isolated places over north and south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema.
The AP Disaster Management Authority in a release said light rains will occur over Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, ASR, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, and Kakinada districts. Other districts have scattered rain.
Meanwhile, temperature rose by 4 degrees Celsius in Visakhapatnam, which recorded 35.5 degrees, and 4 degrees in Narasapur, which recorded 35.5 degrees. Other places registered a marginal increase in the day temperature.
