A day after announcing a WhatsApp number (7416687878) dedicated to receive grievances from people with disability, old-aged, those who attend work and others, the Hyderabad collectorate has received 25 grievances.
The weekly programme Prajavani is conducted at all collectorates, including in Hyderabad, and other government offices to receive the grievances regarding their work in various departments including housing, pensions, municipal, electricity and others. The 25 grievances includes seven regarding works ta Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and nine in other districts.
Hyderabad collector Hari Chandana Dasari, who announced the Whatsapp number, on Sunday (July 27, 2025) has urged people to utilise the service which helps in saving time and travel expenses. Ms. Hari Chandana said that people can submit write their grievances, take a photo and send it over WhatsApp.
The collector’s office would upload the grievance in a dedicated portal, generate ID numbers and inform people that their grievance was acknowledged. Later, an action taken report (ATR) would be sent to the mobile number of the person concerned. It was learnt that of the 1200 messages received over the WhatsApp number, several were from people congratulating/thanking for taking the initiative.
