Hyderabad: As part of the ‘Kalpana She for STEM’ program, Vigyanshaala, in collaboration with the TGSWREIS, TGTWREIS and the MJPTBCWREIS, organised special exposure visits to two of India’s premier research institutes.
A total of 94 girl students and 47 faculty members from 47 government degree colleges under the three welfare societies participated in exposure visits at Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) and the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR).
These visits aimed to give students a real-world understanding of scientific research. They explored high-end research laboratories, interacted with scientists, observed ongoing experiments, and participated in hands-on science activities. The sessions were designed to bridge classroom learning with real-time research exposure.
The Kalpana She for STEM program, implemented in 47 degree colleges, is focused on encouraging young women to explore and excel in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. Through mentoring, career guidance, and exposure visits like these, the program aims to build scientific curiosity, confidence, and long-term motivation among students.
