Bhpian chiekenugget recently shared this with other enthusiasts:
Added a Pop race CLK GTR to my collection. This car was available in two different versions:
1) No.1 1997 GT1
2) Plain silver
The one this post covers is the plain silver version.
The box has a lot of cool graphics, it is simple and does its job of protecting the car very well.
The car sits in a plastic protective case. It is not the most intuitive but again it does it job of preventing any damage. The first thing I noticed is the fit and finish, an uninformed wouldn’t know it has openable parts.
The CLK GTR sticks low to the ground in real life and this model has been able to recreate it very well. Rims look accurate to their real life counterpart and the text (BRIDGESTONE and POTENZA) on them is crisp. There is enough clearance for the wheels to roll smoothly.
The rear is well done, the corners are sharp (in terms of looks and finish) and the spoiler has been fixed sturdily. The exhaust tips are perfectly in line with the cut outs of the removable clamshell.
The rear windshield offers a good look into the internals.
The side mirrors are a let down, but nothing in the grand scheme of things this car has to offer. It looks majestic from this angle.
Looks very good from the top.
Now for the best part of the car! The removable elements. The pieces attach to the body using magnets and hooks.
The engine bay looks phenomenal. The text is incredibly small yet clear..
The front clam shell opens up to reveal even more details, the suspension setup is very detailed.
Comparing the diecast to its real life counterpart.
This what the underside of the pieces look like. There are two magnets in each piece.
Underside of the car does not have any details and is screwed in.
Here is a parting shot with all four of my cars together.
