Hyderabad: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has announced significant fare discounts across its premium bus services providing a major relief for passengers commuting between Hyderabad and Vijayawada.
The price cuts, ranging from 16 percent to 30 percent, apply to both online and offline bookings and are aimed at making intercity travel more economical and accessible.
Steep discounts on premium services
TGSRTC, in a post on social media platform ‘X’, detailed the discounts available on different types of buses. Garuda Plus services offer the steepest reduction, with ticket fares slashed by 30 percent.
The e-Garuda services follow closely, offering a 26 percent discount. Passengers opting for Super Luxury and Lahari Non-AC buses can now avail a 20 percent reduction in ticket prices. Meanwhile, travelers on Rajadhani and Lahari AC buses will benefit from a 16 percent discount.
These discounts are applicable on all tickets booked during the offer period, regardless of whether the booking is done online or at a physical counter.

This move is part of TGSRTC’s larger strategy to boost ridership on intercity routes, particularly along the high-traffic Hyderabad–Vijayawada corridor.
By reducing fares on luxury and semi-luxury services, the corporation aims to encourage more commuters to shift from private vehicles to public transport, ensuring both affordability and convenience.
TGSRTC officials stated that these discounts are part of a promotional campaign and urged passengers to take advantage of the offer while it lasts. The fare cuts are expected to benefit regular travelers, students, and families, especially during weekends and holidays when demand typically surges.
