Hyderabad: Suryapet police arrested a woman on Sunday who was part of a seven-person gang in connection with the burglary of Santoshi Jewellers in Suryapet a week ago.The arrested accused was M Yashoda from Khammam. Officials recovered 14 tolas of stolen gold from her. Police said that three Nepalese nationals — Prakash Anil Kumar, Kadak Singh and an unknown person — and three other individuals from Jharkhand — B Amar and two others — remain at large.According to police, following the jewellery store burglary, the accused travelled to Khammam, where they met Yashoda and gave her 14 tolas of gold for her expenses.Prakash, the prime accused, came to Khammam several months ago and met his friend Kadak Singh. It was through Kadak Singh that Prakash was introduced to Yashoda, and they got into a relationship. She had previously assisted the two accused in committing thefts at banks and jewellery shops. Police said they were also previously charged in two other cases.The police said that the accused had conspired to commit an offence in Suryapet because no one recognised them there. Under the pretext of setting up an eatery, they rented a house close to a jewellery store. They conducted recce of the store for several days and committed the offence on July 21. They gained entry by making a hole in the washroom attached to the jewellery store. They then used a gas cutter to enter the storeroom where the ornaments were kept and stole about 2.5kg gold.
