The NBA offseason is when players finally get a breather. Some take vacations, while others dive into business ventures or promote their personal brands. For De’Aaron Fox, the plan was a big tour through China to spotlight his shoe line and connect with fans overseas.

But when news broke that he canceled the trip due to injury, fans naturally started to worry. The good news? Reports now say the injury isn’t serious at all. While the tour’s off, Fox’s status for the upcoming NBA season isn’t in jeopardy, and that’s a major sigh of relief for San Antonio Spurs fans.

Matt Guzman provided an update on X about the extent of Fox’s injury. He said, “Follow up to the De’Aaron Fox situation: Per Fox’s Curry Brand Tour Host, the point guard is dealing with a muscle strain. The injury isn’t severe; it shouldn’t impact his availability this season. Opting out of the tour was a precautionary measure.”

De’Aaron Fox was originally set to join Steph Curry on the 2025 Curry Brand World Tour, with stops lined up in San Francisco, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Chongqing, China. But in a video posted to X, Fox shared that he won’t be making the trip after all, saying it was a tough call and expressing how much he was looking forward to meeting fans and showing off the Curry 2s.

Fox recently recovered from surgery on his finger and has since been focused on building chemistry with his new Spurs teammates, especially Victor Wembanyama. Fox joined the Spurs from the Sacramento Kings in February as part of a three-team trade.

At the end of last season, Fox had hinted that the summer would be all about working closely with Wembanyama to get on the same page. For now, Curry will carry the tour solo, while Fox keeps his focus on the court.
