Hyderabad: Former chief minister and BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday accused the Revanth Reddy-led Congress govt of neglecting the farming sector. He asked the BRS leaders and workers to take up various programmes at the field level for the welfare of farmers.The BRS president held a meeting with party leaders, along with BRS working president KT Rama Rao, T Harish Rao, and others at Erravelli farmhouse. They discussed the ongoing crisis in the farming sector and planned a series of programmes to address the issues.Terming the Banakacherla project as the death knell for the Telangana farmers, the former chief minister said the Congress govt was mortgaging the interests of Telangana. “The people of Telangana are watching Revanth Reddy trying to safeguard the interests of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu,” he said. “The BRS should fight and go to any extent to stop the Banakacherla project,” he further said.KCR demanded the govt to operate the lift at Kannepally pumphouse and fill the water bodies and tanks. He said that the govt was deliberately not utilising the Kaleshwaram project. KCR also discussed the shortage of urea in the state.
