Maruti Escudo SUV Fully Revealed

The first image of the upcoming Maruti Escudo midsize SUV has been leaked online ahead of its official launch on September 3, 2025. The spotted model appears without any camouflage and is painted in a grey colour. The front fascia of the Escudo looks completely different from the Grand Vitara. Unlike the Grand Vitara which features a large black front grille with a mesh pattern, this new SUV has a sealed-off section with newly-designed headlamps and integrated LED DRLs.

The fog lamp assembly has also been redesigned, while the lower section of the bumper shares a resemblance to the Grand Vitara. Design elements such as squarish wheel arches with alloy wheels, raised hood, body-coloured ORVMs, silver roof rails and conventional door handles seem to be borrowed from the Grand Vitara. Spy images reveal that the Escudo will sport LED taillamps connected via a light bar.

The interior of the Maruti Escudo is still under the wraps. However, media reports suggest that it will be the first Maruti Suzuki to offer Level-2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) and Dolby Atmos audio technology, similar to what is available in Mahindra’s new BE 6 and XEV 9 born electric SUV and Tata Harrier EV.

Expected Features:

The feature kit of this new Maruti SUV might also include a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a fully digital instrument cluster, HUD (Head-Up Display), wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, Suzuki Connect connected car features, rear AC vents, a panoramic sunroof, a 360 degree camera, cruise control, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability program, hill hold and decent control, Isofix mounts, rear parking sensors and more.

Petrol, Hybrid & CNG Options:

Similar to the Grand Vitara, the new Maruti Escudo SUV will be offered with three powertrain options – a 1.5L K15C petrol mild hybrid, a 1.5L Atkinson cycle petrol hybrid and a CNG. The mild hybrid version will be available with two gearbox options – a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The strong hybrid model will get an eCVT unit. Additionally, the Escudo SUV will come with the 4WD (four-wheel drive) system.
