The car spent a good 8 days with the accessories guy and i just got it back today. Have done some practical upgrades, will list them out below along with photos. Let me know if there is something else that I need to add that’s an essential .
- Projector Fog lamps 2-inch ( Hella ) recommended by Naveen (Navjon)
- DRL (OE)
- Parking sensors (OE with display in the MID)
- Mudflaps
- Pharoah Mats
- chrome garnish at the rear and the front
- Rear bike guard
- Metallic scuff plates
- Puddle lamps with the Toyota symbol
- Touch Leather seats from a brand called Lugn
- Steering wrap in leather
- Door and dash wrapped to match the seats
The only thing I am a little disappointed with is the door and dash wrap. I expected it to be soft touch leather/rexin but its just a wrap over the hard plastic. Which is still hard. I probably should have discussed this with the accessories guy prior to doing it. I just assumed it would be similar the the GX(O) . It’s obviously too late now to change it. The arm rest on the doors is soft touch material , that is the part where one can see stitches but the rest of it is just wrap. Reason I got was the finish would not be as good if cushioning was added on ( not very convinced about it) But have to live with it now.
Had some trouble initially with the DRL as the power was connected to the headlamps and it would only switch on when the headlamps came on , Got that changed to the ignition now. So it functions like a DRL now. The fog lamps have a switch of their own but it is also connected to the auto head lamps. They turn on with the head lamps and also have the high and low beam functions just like the head lamps. It can be completely turned off too. I chose to get fog lamps only because the OE headlamps are quite bad and I was trying to figure out a solution that fits my budget. There are many options in both the 2 inch and 3 inch sizes with dual and tricolor , but all of it was out of my budget, mainly because the GX does not come with factory fitted fog lamps so a new grill had to be procured to fit it and wiring also had to be done for the same.
