Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed at Anjaneya Nagar in Moosapet on Tuesday when Hydraa officials removed encroachments in the space earmarked for a park.
Residents of Anjaneya Nagar in Moosapet reported in Prajavani that HMDA had approved the layout, allocating 2,000 square yards for a park, and the GHMC sanctioned Rs 50 lakh for its beautification, laying the foundation stone. However, when the contractor began work, encroachers halted the progress.
Following the complaint, Hydraa authorities entered the site, demolished the encroachments, and fenced the 2,000 square yard land to prevent further encroachments.
Meanwhile, illegal encroachments from the Musi riverbed between Chaderghat bridge and Osmania Hospital mortuary were also removed on Tuesday.
Hydraa found that the encroachers were using the area for vehicle parking, and 3.10 acres of the riverbed was used to build sheds. Other encroachments were identified on 1.30 acres at one location and 5.22 acres at another. Following complaints, Hydraa officials removed these encroachments.
