Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch a new midsize SUV, which will sit between the Brezza and Grand Vitara in its product lineup. Currently known as the Maruti Escudo, the model might receive a new nameplate upon launch. This new Maruti SUV will join the budget conscious Arena model lineup with the official price announcement on 3rd September, 2025.

Crucial Positioning:
While prices will be officially revealed nearly a month from now, we expect the Escudo’s price range will bridge the narrow gap between the Brezza and Grand Vitara. Currently, the Maruti Brezza subcompact SUV and Grand Vitara midsize SUV are available in the price range of Rs 8.69 lakh – Rs 14.14 lakh and Rs 11.42 lakh – Rs 20.68 lakh, respectively. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom.
Price Prediction:
It will be interesting to see how Maruti Suzuki positions the Escudo. We believe the carmaker will go all-in on affordability without compromising on value and appeal. The Maruti Escudo will require a careful balancing between price, features and positioning. Prices are expected to start around Rs 9 lakh – Rs 10 lakh for the base variant, while the fully-loaded, top-end trim is estimated to cost nearly Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
Modern Tech:
As per media reports, the Maruti Escudo will be the brand’s first model to feature Level-2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) and Dolby Atmos audio technology. It will also come with a powered tailgate and 4WD (four-wheel drive) system. However, all these features are most likely reserved for the top-end trim.
3 Engine Options:
As far as powertrain is concerned, the new Maruti midsize SUV is expected to be offered with three engine options – a 1.5L K15C mild hybrid, a 1.5L Atkinson cycle strong hybrid and a CNG variant. The strong hybrid setup will be exclusively available on the higher trims. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer.
