The new 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift has finally entered its testing phase and the first spy images have surfaced online. The front and rear sections of the test mule are heavily camouflaged, hinting that most of the cosmetic updates will be made in these areas. The SUV might feature a slightly revised grille, new headlamps, tweaked front and rear bumpers and a new set of alloy wheels.

In the spy image, elements such as the roof rails, side body cladding, door handles, ORVMs, wheel arches and alloy wheels, which appear similar to the current model. Volkswagen might offer the updated Taigun in new colour schemes along with the existing seven paint options – Pure White, Dolphin Grey, Nightshade Blue, Reflex Silver, Oryx White, Kings Red and Deep Black.

Interior details of the new 2026 Volkswagen Taigun facelift are still under the wraps. However, the SUV is likely to receive significant feature upgrades including the inclusion of a Level-2 ADAS suite. The Taigun was one of the first Made-in-India cars to achieve 5 stars safety rating in Global NCAP crash tests for both adult and child protection under the updated protocols.
All of the existing features will be carried forward to the updated model such as leatherette and fabric seat upholstery, red ambient lighting, ventilated front seats with leather inserts, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-inch fully digital instrument cluster, an electric sunroof, auto dimming IRVM, automatic climate control, wireless charging, engine start-stop button, tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control and more.
Same Engines:
The new Volkswagen Taigun 2026 is likely to retain the existing engine setup. This means, the facelifted version will come with the 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI petrol engine options, delivering 113bhp with 175Nm and 148bhp with 250Nm, respectively. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard, while a 6-speed torque convertor automatic and a 7-speed DSG automatic will be offered with the 1.0L and 1.5L petrol variants, respectively.
