BHPian FueledbyFury recently shared this with other enthusiasts:Honda CB350: Back rest and luggage rackFor quite some time, my dad has been complaining that sitting as a pillion on our CB350 isn’t the most comfortable experience. Initially, I brushed it off thinking maybe he just needed to get used to it, but he kept bringing it up, especially after longer rides. It became clear, when I went for a long ride and was pillion for some stretches and I realized that there was something missing. Eventually, he decided that a backrest might help. So, we headed over to BigWing to check out the available options. But when we saw the backrest installed on one of the bikes, we weren’t convinced. It just looked… incomplete. Nice in pictures, but in reality, it felt like a patch job. That’s when we noticed another CB350 at the showroom, this one had both the backrest and a luggage rack. And that setup just worked. It looked balanced, purposeful, and gave the bike a much more finished, rugged look. That’s when dad and I looked at each other and pretty much agreed, this is it. It did solve the comfort issue and also enhanced the whole presence of the bike. Unfortunately, the combo was out of stock at BigWing Muvattupuzha at the time. So, we waited. A week passed, and then we got a call from the showroom “Sir, it’s back in stock.” Straight to service center. Work in progress Looking Good Review after few hundred kilometers: – Aesthetically, the bike feels perfectly balanced now. The front and rear are in harmony, and the overall silhouette looks well-proportioned. – The backrest gives proper support to the pillion, dad’s now more comfortable and relaxed even on longer stretches. – There’s an unexpected bonus, the bike feels more planted. The additional weight distribution at the rear seems to have shifted the center of gravity just enough to enhance straight-line stability, especially at highway speeds. – It even feels like the bike picks up speed more confidently, almost like it was engineered to be this way all along. Below is the total cost breakup for the installation: In total, wallet took a hit of 5425.99 (Including tax amount) This upgrade has genuinely made the bike feel new again. It’s amazing how a small addition can renew your connection with your machine. I’ll post a more detailed review after clocking in a few hundred more kilometers, but for now I’d say this was a well worth decision that brought back the excitement of owning the CB350.
