My Switzerland chronicles: Exploring Interlaken, Lucerne and Zurich

The trip to Interlaken commenced early morning, and our target was to complete Interlaken, Luzern and unexplored parts of Zurich in one day.

Introduction

Continuing from where I left off (Switzerland Part-II), these posts are around our experiences in Interlaken, Lucerne and Zurich; also featured are some pics from ETH, one of the top universities in the world.

My Switzerland chronicles: Exploring Interlaken, Lucerne and Zurich

Getting to Interlaken

Two routes:

1. Zurich – Bern – Interlaken
2. Zurich – Lucerne – Interlaken

We decided to do route 1 up and take route 2 on the return – with Swiss Travel pass in hand, and tickets for the day activated, it was zero effort. Since I’ve already featured the Zurich station in the earlier parts, allow me to start with Bern now.

Our train and another one departing parallelly out of Bern

Paragliders galore; also note the boat waiting

Interlaken OST, like Luzern (Lucerne) has both broad gauge and meter gauge lines – broad gauge to and fro Bern

and a meter gauge to Meringen onward to Luzern
