Hyderabad: Imagine facing a health emergency with no one around to help. Would you think of using your society’s security app — the one you normally use to approve entry and exit — to get medical aid?

In a unique collaboration, MyGate, a popular community management platform, has partnered with STAR Hospitals to provide advanced medical services directly to gated communities in Hyderabad.

Under the initiative titled ‘STAR Services on MyGate’, residents using the app can now connect instantly with emergency services at STAR Hospitals and book appointments with doctors. The service brings multispecialty care to the fingertips of more than five lakh families across 1,800 residential communities in the city.

According to Rahul Medakkar, CEO of STAR Hospitals Group, the app not only integrates STAR’s clinical services across 30 specialties but also offers users practical, accessible information. “It includes what to do during a heart attack or domestic accidents like gas leaks or cooker blasts,” he said.

“For the first time in India, a hospital group and a community mobile application platform are working together to proactively deliver healthcare in everyday life, not just in emergencies,” he added.

Sridhar Babu said, “Healthcare is the soul of society. With 5.2 million Indians dying from treatable conditions annually and urban emergency delays widespread, this initiative is both urgent and transformative. Through AI screenings, digital health cards and data-driven care, Telangana aims to lead India’s $30 billion digital health economy, investing not just in innovation, but in lives.”

Arekapudi Gandhi said, “Community-first healthcare is no longer an aspiration, it’s a necessity. This initiative ensures that residents across Serilingampally and beyond are more prepared, informed and supported in their daily health journeys.”

Rohit Jindal added, “MyGate aims to empower communities with everyday solutions that matter. Our partnership with STAR ensures that health becomes an integrated part of community living, not just an emergency response.”
