Elusive leopard trapped by forest officials in Hyderabad’s Gandipet after weeks-long search


A leopard that caused panic in Gandipet and nearby areas was finally trapped by forest officials at Forest Trek Park. The animal is being shifted to Nehru Zoological Park for observation before being released back into the wild.

Elusive leopard trapped by forest officials in Hyderabad’s Gandipet after weeks-long search

Hyderabad: The elusive leopard created a panic at Gandipet and surroundings was trapped by the forest officials on Wednesday night at Forest Trek Park.

The feline is being shifted to Nehru Zoological Park where it will be kept under observation and later released in forest.


The Forest Department officials had set up trap cages at different places around Gandipet after the leopard was sighted early this month.

Finally, the leopard fell for the bait and landed in the trap cage at Forest Trek Park.
