Rashtrapati Nilayam opens new landscape garden, visitors allowed from August 1


Rashtrapati Nilayam’s new garden, Nilayam Nikunj, will open to the public from August 1. Inaugurated by President Murmu, the six-acre green space features topiary, rose gardens, and a kids’ zone, promoting sustainability and wellness. Entry is free with prior registration

Hyderabad: Nilayam Nikunj, a scenic landscape garden at Rashtrapati Nilayam, the official retreat of the President of India at Bolarum in Secunderabad Cantonment, will be open to the public from August 1.

President Droupadi Murmu virtually inaugurated Nilayam Nikunj at the second campus of Rashtrapati Nilayam to mark the completion of her third year in office. The green initiative aims to promote environmental sustainability, wellness, and public engagement with nature, according to K Rajani Priya from the President’s Secretariat, Rashtrapati Nilayam.


Spread across six acres, Nilayam Nikunj features a Topiary area, rose garden with 800 rose plants, Yoga zone, kids’ play area, and walking pathways. The garden also houses 404 trees, 5,240 shrubs, and 27,300 hedge plants.

Entry to Nilayam Nikunj is free and can be pre-booked online at https://visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in/. Visitors with tickets for the Rashtrapati Nilayam main circuit can also access the garden.

As part of Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorations, entry fees for Defence, paramilitary personnel, and ex-servicemen have been waived from July 26 to September 14. Eligible visitors must carry valid ID cards and register at the reception to avail of the exemption.
