The iconic Tata Sierra nameplate is all set to be reintroduced in an all-new avatar in India. The SUV has been spotted testing numerous times, and was recently previewed to dealers in a bright yellow paint scheme. The Sierra is likely to go on sale in during Diwali season, most likely in October, 2025.
Both electric and ICE (internal combustion engine) variants were recently seen undergoing their final testing rounds, heavy camouflaged.

Tata Sierra Petrol & Diesel Engines
According to media reports, the Sierra will initially be introduced with an all-new 1.5L naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine. Its power and torque figures are not available yet. This NA engine is expected to be offered on the lower variant, and helping Tata achieve a competitive starting price. At a later stage, the SUV will receive a new 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine, producing a maximum power of 170bhp and 280Nm of torque. The Sierra diesel might be offered with a 2.0L engine, pushing out a maximum power of 170bhp and 350Nm of torque.
Tata Sierra EV – Battery & Range
The electric Sierra might borrow the 65kWh and 75kWh LFP batteries from the newly-launched Harrier EV. The 65kWh battery is paired with a single motor and RWD (rear-wheel drive) system, offering a claimed MIDC range of km. The 75kWh battery comes with dual motors, and RWD and AWD (all-wheel drive) configuration options. It promises an electric range of 627km with RWD and 622km with AWD setup. Similar range figures are expected for the Sierra EV.
