Hyderabad – The United States Consulate General Hyderabad and the Government of Telangana today inaugurated the Telangana State Consular Waiting Area, which will enhance the U.S. government’s capacity to screen and process U.S. visas efficiently and effectively.
The Honorable Minister for IT & Industries, Duddilla Sridhar Babu, representing the Government of Telangana, joined U.S. Consul General Jennifer Larson in officially inaugurating the facility, which was constructed by the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC). This practical and convenient facility demonstrates the strength of the partnership between the United States and Telangana state government.
Located at the U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad, the Telangana State Consular Waiting Area provides a covered space with chairs, restrooms and refreshment stalls, offering comfort and convenience to thousands of visa applicants and their families who visit the Consulate daily. The facilities ensure that all visitors to the consulate can wait with respect and dignity.
Speaking at the event, U.S. Consul General Jennifer Larson expressed gratitude to the Government of Telangana for their vision and support. “As I conclude my time as U.S. Consul General, I am so delighted to have this opportunity to reflect on this facility and how it stands as a great testament to the enduring strength of the U.S.-Indian partnership.
