Adilabad Collector Rajarshi Shah on Thursday (August 1., 2025) handed over a cheque for ₹50,000 as compensation to an Adivasi farmer, who was injured in a bear attack at Waghapur village in Adilabad district in May this year.
The State government sanctioned the compensation to the farmer identified as Dev Rao of Waghapur from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, official sources said. The cheque was handed over to the farmer at the Collectorate. Adilabad Additional Collector Shyamala Devi and others were present. Dev Rao thanked the district administration for ensuring compensation in an expeditious manner.
