Hyderabad: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has said that the work for preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for four-laning of NH-765 from Tukkuguda on Hyderabad suburbs to Dindi via Kalwakurthy has been initiated.
Replying to a question raised by Congress MP M Anil Kumar Yadav in Rajya Sabha on Hyderabad-Kalwakurthy four-lane project, the Union Minister said the work for preparing DPR for four-laning of Tukkuguda to Dindi via Kalwakurthy Section of NH-765 has been initiated.
He said the development of national highways is a continuous process. The Ministry receives proposals from time to time for upgradation or development of NHs, including development of the NHs in Telangana. Decisions of implementation and investments are taken up based on the outcome of DPR, fulfillment of the criteria, requirement of connectivity, inter-se priority and synergy with PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, the Ministry said.
The Minister’s statement has set in motion for expediting the plans related to expansion of NH-765 from Tukkuguda to Dindi via Kalwakurthy to reach Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India, and a Shakti Peetham, in Srisailam, in a hassle-free manner.
Officials said a consultant has been appointed for preparing the DPR for the expansion of the NH-765 covering 85 kms from Tukkuguda to Dindi. Once the existing two-lane Tukkuguda-Dindi was developed into a four-lane road then the travel time of motorists especially those heading to Srisailam would be cut down by an hour.
Presently, the motorists, mainly those travelling by car, are spending close to five hours to reach Srisailam from Hyderabad via Tukkuguda and Dindi. If the highway was developed into a four-lane road then the travel time of motorists would reduce to four hours as against five hours bringing relief to them.
The NH-765 expansion would help motorists to avoid Amangal and Kadthal villages while proceeding to Dindi to reach Srisailam, officials explained.
