Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Police rescued a record 2,479 children from various hazardous occupations across the commissionerate under ‘Operation Muskaan-XI’ during July 2025.
The operation, which focused on tracing missing children and identifying minors engaged in illegal and hazardous work, led to the registration of 530 FIRs against employers. A total of 556 persons were arrested in these cases.
Of the 2,479 children rescued, 2,353 were boys and 126 were girls. While 109 children were under the age of 14, as many as 2,370 were above 14 years.
Officials said 1,077 children were from Telangana, 133 from Andhra Pradesh, and 1,269 from other states, including Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal and Jharkhand. Additionally, 12 children were rescued from Nepal.
For the year 2025, together under ‘Operation Smile-XI’ and ‘Operation Muskaan-XI’, a total of 3,550 children were rescued and 1,002 FIRs were booked by the Rachakonda Police.
