Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar participated as the chief guest at the event organised to release 20th installment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi held on Saturday at the Acharya NG Agricultural University in Guntur. The event coincided with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official virtual launch from Varanasi, joined by Central ministers across States.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Chandra Sekhar highlighted that Andhra Pradesh cultivates crops such as paddy, cotton, groundnut, chilli, and green gram, with farmers spending ₹35,000 to ₹50,000 per acre. He thanked Prime Minister Modi, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan for extending ₹20,000 as direct benefit under PM-KISAN.

He emphasized the importance of adopting certified seeds, water management, drone technology, and cold storage infrastructure via FPOs. He warned against the health hazards of adulterated bio-pesticides and underscored the growing demand for horticulture crops. He also assured strong measures to support tenant farmers and encouraged officers to reach out directly to empower farmers. In this event, TDP Prathipadu MLA B.
