Mahindra BE6 Pack Two detailed review: Features, range & what’s missing

For the new variant, Mahindra claims a real-world city range of 500 km and a 20-80% battery charging time of 20 minutes using a 175 kW DC fast charger

Bhpian Aditya recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

In the first week of July 2025, Mahindra introduced the 79 kWh battery pack in the mid Pack Two variant of the BE 6. Priced at Rs. Rs. 23.50 lakh (ex-showroom), it costs Rs. 1.6 lakh more than the 59 kWh version.

Mahindra BE6 Pack Two detailed review: Features, range & what’s missing

The car is powered by a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle. It produces 282 BHP and 380 Nm. For the new variant, Mahindra claims a real-world city range of 500 km and a 20-80% battery charging time of 20 minutes using a 175 kW DC fast charger. Two charger options of 7.2 kWh and 11.2 kWh will be made available on a chargeable basis.

The Pack Two 79 kWh sits below the Pack Three Select variant, which costs Rs. 24.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Naturally, it does not get some of the Pack Three Select’s features. Mahindra claims that the omission of these features is not a deal-breaker. Download the updated Mahindra BE 6 brochure here – Download Mahindra BE 6 Brochure.pdf

Let’s have a closer look at the Pack Two 79 kWh.

At the front, the only changes (vis-a-vis the Pack Three) are the pilot lamps/DRLs and the omission of the front camera (since there is no 360-degree view system). It also does not get 4 corner radars like the top Pack Three variant. So, while it does get Level 2 ADAS, it comes with only 10 features. Auto parking is not available either:

C-shaped LED DRLs have been replaced by simple units:

On the sides, there are changes to the ORVMs and wheels. Door handles are not electrically deployed:

As mentioned earlier, there is no 360-degree view system in the Pack Two variant. Hence, the ORVMs do not have integrated cameras. Additionally, ORVms do not get electric folding or dip on reverse functions:

Variant type has been indicated on both the front fenders:

Instead of alloy wheels, the Pack Two gets 19-inch stylised wheels with aero covers shod with 245/55 section tyres:

Just like the front, at the rear, the difference is limited to the LED pilot lamps. The tailgate gets manual operation. It must also be noted that the intelligent active rear suspension of the Pack Three is not available on the new variant. You have to make do with the Passive suspension with FDD:

No C-shaped LED pilot lamps or connecting LED strip at the rear:

At first glance, one will not be able to tell the difference between the dashboards of the Pack Two and Pack Three. Most of the elements are the same. Some features such as ambient lighting, head-up display, and leather wrapping for the e-shifer are missing though:

12.3-inch MID is very clear and has very cool graphics as well. You get a range display on the left and the power usage display on the right:

Apart from one, all switches to the right of the steering are identical to the Pack Three. No knee airbag here – the Pack Two gets only 6 airbags not 7:

While the front seats are identical to the Pack Three in design and upholstery, they do not get ventilation…

…or electric and lumbar adjustments. No memory function either:

No aluminium pedals. Just regular rubber units:

12.3-inch infotainment unit is paired with a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos. The touchscreen has a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. A/C controls are integrated into the head-unit. However, the Pack Two does not get an air purifier and AQI display:

In addition to the Range, Everyday and Race driving modes, the BE 6 now comes with a new “Default” mode. Mahindra claims that this mode provides a feel close to an IC-engine car:

The Groove Me function is still there, albeit with fewer light effects:

Tailgate and security tabs are missing in the Exterior sub-section of the My Vehicle section:

Through the safety tag, you can switch the passenger airbag on or off, while the convenience tab allows you to turn the wireless charging system on or off:

No 360-degree view system. You get a simple reversing camera:

Instead of two, you get only one wireless smartphone charging pad:

Engine start/stop button is now a physical unit:

Touch controls for the head-unit that are placed behind the rotary knob have been left out:

Some of the omitted features include the selfie camera, park assist and remote tailgate opening/closing. Hence, switches for those functions have been left out of the roof console. However, a switch for the reversing camera has been added here:

Headliner is white. A panoramic sunroof has been provided, but it does not have interactive lights:

Rear seat and features are identical to the Pack Three:

Deliveries of the BE 6 Pack Two 79 kWh variant commenced from the end of July 2025.
