Student Found Dead In Pvt College Classroom

WARANGAL: A 16-year-old intermediate first-year student died allegedly by suicide in the classroom of the SR Junior College in Naimnagar, Hanamkonda district, on Sunday. The body of the student, hailing from Mancherial district, was found in the classroom located on the top floor of the college building early in the morning.

The college management shifted her body to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital without informing her family, which raised suspicions and concerns.

Police recovered a note in which Shivani reportedly wrote, purportedly saying that she was unable to cope with academic pressure and was struggling to understand the subjects taught in class.

Upon hearing the news, Shivani’s family and several student unions staged a protest in front of the college, holding the management responsible for her death and demanding strict action.
A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, BRS state leader Anugu Rakesh Reddy said the tragedy should serve as a wake-up call for both parents and private educational institutions that exert undue pressure on students regarding academics, social status, marks, and rankings.
