“Kingdom,” starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, is running successfully in India and abroad. Released on July 31st, this emotional gangster drama, built around a strong bond between two brothers, posted impressive box office numbers.

About the response

Speaking about the response, Vijay shared, “I’m overwhelmed. The film is receiving love not just in the Telugu states but even in places like Kerala, where we didn’t release a dubbed version.Earlier, a hit meant more opportunities. Now, I feel a deeper responsibility. The positive response after the first show brought immense relief and joy.”

Second part will be bigger

About director Gowtam Tinnanuri, Vijay remarked, “His strength lies in emotional storytelling. Every action scene in Kingdom has meaning, not just spectacle. Like in Jersey, he creates high moments through emotions.” Vijay confirmed that the film is planned as a two-part saga: “The first part focused on Suri’s mission to rescue his brother Shiva. The sequel will dive deeper into themes of patriotism and the tribal revolution. Gowtam has big plans for part two.”

On his preparation, he shared, “I watched web series to understand the era, worked on dialect and body transformation. I trained for six months to look strong for the empire scenes.”

Sukumar’s appreciation

“Sukumar garu called and praised the film. I’ve admired his work for long, so that meant a lot,” Vijay Deverakonda said. However, when asked about their collaboration, he added that it may not happen at this moment “We’ve been planning something since Arjun Reddy. It will happen when the time is right.”

Next projects

Vijay Deverakonda has already begun preparation for his next film, directed by Rahul Sankrityan. “For the first time in my career, it will be set in the Rayalaseema backdrop. I love the Rayalaseema dialect. I will also be working on a film with Ravi Kiran Kola, which will be based on a unique story set in Andhra Pradesh,” he added.
