BC quota: Kavitha vows legal battle | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi founder and MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Tuesday vowed to pursue all legal avenues if the govt conducts local body polls without ensuring 42% reservation for BCs.She was forced to end her 72-hour hunger strike at Dharna Chowk after police denied extended permission. The Telangana high court, meanwhile, refused to direct police to allow the extended fast.“This isn’t a political fight. It’s about self-respect and social justice,” Kavitha said. “When half the population is BCs, they need proportional representation.”Backed by scores of BC organisations, she demanded timely implementation of the quota in local bodies, education, and jobs. “We achieved Telangana to prosper together. This fight is rooted in constitutional rights,” she added.
