The iPhone 17 series is almost around the corner and based on everything that the leaks have shared so far, the anticipations are high. Apple enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting Apple’s annual September event, where the highly anticipated iPhone 17 Pro is expected to make its debut alongside the regular iPhone 17, the new iPhone 17 Air and the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The entire iPhone 17 range is expected to be unveiled as early as Monday, September 8, 2025, or Wednesday, September 10, 2025, promising significant advancements for iPhone loyalists. New processors with more performance, superior camera experience, better battery life, and more AI features as part of the package. The new models will replace the outgoing iPhone 16 series as Apple’s latest and greatest.
iPhone 17 Pro design and display upgrades
The iPhone 17 Pro is rumoured to retain the popular Dynamic Island that we first saw on the iPhone 14 Pro, cleverly integrating the front-facing camera within the display. Some of the iPhone 16 Pro’s special features like the Camera Control key and Action Button will also make it to the iPhone 17 Pro. To keep the weight and costs in check, Apple is rumoured to replace the Titanium frame in favour of a lightweight aluminium alloy.
Other than the usual array of dull black, dark blue and while colourways, a striking bright orange colour option is also rumoured to join the lineup. The display itself is expected to be a vibrant 6.9-inch XDR OLED screen with a smooth 120 Hz ProMotion refresh rate, promising a more immersive and fluid visual experience.
iPhone 17 Pro camera upgrades
The camera on the iPhone 17 Pro is poised for a significant overhaul. The device is rumoured to boast a more capable triple rear camera setup, where all three lenses feature a 48MP sensor. This includes a 48MP primary wide lens capable of recording 8K video, which is a substantial leap from the iPhone 16 Pro’s 4K capabilities. This will be adjoined by a 48MP ultra-wide lens for expansive shots, and a 48MP periscope telephoto lens, promising enhanced zoom capabilities. The front-facing camera is also expected to receive a substantial upgrade, potentially to 24MP sensor for ensuring sharper, more detailed selfies and high-quality video calls.
iPhone 17 Pro performance
Under the hood, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to be powered by the Apple A19 Pro chipset. This powerful new processor will be paired with a 12GB of RAM, ensuring better multitasking and more performance ceiling for demanding games and tasks. The base model is expected to start with 256GB of internal storage. Furthermore, leaks suggest that the larger iPhone 17 Pro Max variant could feature the largest iPhone battery to date – a robust 5,500mAh unit.
This enhanced battery capacity will be complemented by support for both 15W Qi2 wireless charging and 25W MagSafe, offering versatile yet faster charging options.
iPhone 17 Pro price in India
With all the new upgrades, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to see a notable bump in its price. The Pro variant is rumoured to start in India from Rs 1,45,990. For the US market, the starting price will be around $1199 whereas for Dubai, the price will be set at AED 4403.
