Minister for Labour Vasamsetti Subash has said that government is taking all steps to implement safety norms, prevent accidents and provide safety for workers in factories and other units.
Mr. Subash, along with Labour Commissioner M.V. Seshagiri Babu, District Collector G. Lakshmisha, Director of Factories D. Chandrashekar Varma, Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner H.M. Dhyanchandra and other officers participated in the run organised by Factories department on ‘Industrial Safety’ here on Tuesday (March 11).
Mr. Lakshmisha said that all industries and factories should follow safety norms, ensure that the workers wear protection gadgets and register ‘Zero Percent’ accidents in all factories.
As part of the 54th National Safety Week being organised from March 4 to 11, awareness programmes were conducted on ‘building safety’ and in following safety rules. Safety flag was hoisted and pledge was administered in all industries during the week-long progrmmes, programme convenor and Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories M.V. Siva Kumar Reddy said.
The Factories department conducted a mock drill on ‘chlorine leak’, organised cultural programmes on safety on BRTS Road, and felicitated the ‘heroes of workplace’ on the occasion.
Officers of Pollution Control Board, Industries and other departments and managements of various factories of NTR and Guntur region participated.
