Minister for Revenue, Registration, and Stamps Anagani Satya Prasad on Tuesday inspected the ongoing pilot project aimed at delivering registered documents within an hour, at the Koritepadu sub-registrar office in Guntur.

During the visit, officials demonstrated the successful delivery of a registered document in just 15 minutes and 30 seconds, including check slip generation, scanning, and e-KYC.

Commending the staff for their efficiency, the Minister said that the project, also being implemented at three other sub-registrar offices, reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing public service delivery. He highlighted that 13 reforms have been introduced in the Registration Department over the past 13 months since the Coalition government assumed power.

The Minister announced that measures such as slot booking, WhatsApp-based document delivery (over 1.14 lakh documents sent), and auto-mutation in rural and urban areas have been taken to ensure transparency and reduce waiting time. Red cloth podiums have been removed to symbolise equality among citizens, he added.

Mr. Anagani further said that the government has withdrawn the 4% stamp duty on development agreements and reinstated the provision to adjust stamp duty paid during the agreement stage against the final sale deed. For inheritance property certificates, the fee has been made nominal, ₹100 for properties valued below ₹10 lakh and ₹1,000 for higher values.
