Minister Komatireddy Meets Gadkari for Faster NH Clearances

Hyderabad: Roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Tuesday met Union road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari to expedite pending approvals and advance new proposals related to several National Highway (NH) projects in the state.

Among the key issues raised was the expansion of the Hyderabad-Amaravathi (Vijayawada) NH-65 corridor from four lanes to six lanes, along with the construction of service roads.

Citing the recent fatal accident involving two senior police officers, the minister expressed concern over the highway’s reputation as a “death road”. In his response, Gadkari promised that a decision on the NH-65 expansion would be taken at the upcoming Finance Committee meeting on August 15.

Expressing satisfaction with the meeting, Venkat Reddy said Telangana is witnessing rapid progress in road infrastructure due to continued cooperation from the Centre. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring safer and more efficient roads for the people of Telangana and thanked Gadkari for his proactive and sympathetic approach in clearing crucial proposals.
